Wolf as a symbol in different peoples of the world
The wolf is one of the most contradictory and multi-valent symbols in world culture. In Ancient Rome, the wolf was dedicated to Mars, the god of war, and served as an omen of victory. The most famous Roman myth is the story of the she-wolf who fed Romulus and Remus, legendary founders of Rome. This image became a symbol of care, strength, and motherhood.
